Wayne Andrews Architectural photographs collection
Approximately 125 b/w photographic prints, and one catalog document a small portion of the work of architectural photographer and American historian Wayne Andrews. Mr. Andrews had photographic negatives of some 30 pictures he took, summer 1968, of Russian architectural monuments. These included 15 shots of Leningrad buildings (the Winter Palace of Rastrelli, the Smolny Cathedral—Rastrelli again, the New Admiralty—Zakharov, Imperial Stables—V. P. Stasov, General Staff Arch—Rossi, the Stock Exchange—Thomas de Thomond, and St. Isaac's Cathedral—Montferrand); 1 of the Novodevichy convent belfry; 3 of Charles Cameron's work (Palace, Temple of Friendship) at Pavlovsk; 2 of the Peterhof Palace by Rastrelli; 6 of the Tsaritsyno palace and pavilion by Bazhenov and Kazahof; and 4 of the Tsarskoe Selo Palace of Rastrelli, with the Cameron Gallery. The pictures are available for purchase either as 2x2 slides or as 8x10 prints. The collection is now held at the University of Texas and is unprocessed.
