  1 vol. of clippings from the Yokohama newspaper The Japan Daily Mail (English) relating to the Russo-Japanese War, 1904–1905.

• Record Group 14. Faculty and Staff Presentations

  Ca. 1892–1970, 31 cartons. In these lectures delivered by members of the College faculty there are some references to Russia/ USSR.

• Record Group 15. Guest Lectures, 1885-1971

  13 cartons. Some of these lectures, given by visiting authorities at the Naval War College, contain materials pertaining to the USSR. Post-1955 classified and restricted lectures are housed in the Classified Library, Hewitt Hall.

• Record Group 24. Office of Naval Intelligence Records

  1914–18, 1943–45, 22 ms. boxes and 80 vols. Included here are State Department naval attache reports dealing with the military situation of belligerent forces in World War I. There is some material, dated 1916, pertaining to P. N. Miliukov, Rasputin, the Duma, and political conditions in Russia. (RG 24 will soon be made a part of RG 8.)

• Record Group 4. Publications office curriculum files

  Ca. 1919–69, 112 cartons. Contains, inter alia, copies of lectures delivered at the college by leading scholars such as Zbigniew K. Brzezinski, Merle Fainsod, Henry A. Kissinger, Philip E. Mosely, Harry H. Schwartz, John Scott, Demitri B. Shimkin, Marshall D. Shulman, and Bertram D. Wolfe. Topics covered include Soviet history and politics, economy, foreign relations, navy, and role in Asia.

• Record Group 8. Intelligence and Technological Archives

  1894–1945, 80 cartons. Included here are research source materials on naval warfare and related subjects collected and/or produced at the Naval War College. Among Russian-related items are: a report by N. c. Fuglede, a Danish Army officer who travelled through Russia 1918–19; compilation of articles on the Soviet Union from M.I.D. Summaries; and materials, some of them published, on the Dvina River and on German cooperation in the restoration of the military industry of Russia, 1926.
