• The Manuscripts Collections (unpublished papers of individuals), Archives (unpublished papers of organizations), photographs, films, audio tapes, oral histories, and other materials in the repository include numerous references to Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849–1936), the Russian physiologist who pioneered the study of conditioned reflexes. Among relevant holdings are correspondence and other items of:

• David P. Boder (1866-1961)

  Papers, 1927–56, 8 ft. Note of 10 March 1936 speaks of Pavlov, Ivan Sechenov, and Vladimir Bekhterev. The Boder Museum Collection holds a photo of Pavlov (1932). Unpublished finding aids.

• Ernest A. Hilgard (b. 1904)

  Manuscript, 1934, on conditioned reflexes; letters from William H. Burnham and others listed here.

• Everett F. Fatten (1895-1966)

  Papers, 1932–39, 3 ft. Include a letter from Clark L. Hull, 20 February 1935, about Pavlov.

• Florence Mateer (1887-1961?)

  Letter of 19 May 1937 to Hilgard speaks of Pavlov, Bekhterev, and Krasnogorskii.

  His Reminiscences Concerning Psychology and Psychologists (February 1963) contain references to Pavlov, one from the 1932 Copenhagen Congress.
