The widow of the Russian-American violinist Mischa Elman (1891–1967) donated some of his effects to the school. The studio holds photographs of Elman and his associates, a scrapbook of clippings, and musical scores once owned by Elman. Most of the music is printed but a few items are in manuscript (not Elman's hand). It is possible that some of the printed music has Elman's notations and fingering marks.
