U.S. senator from New Hampshire, 1937–61, chairman of the Joint Committee on Foreign Economic Cooperation and a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and Senate Armed Services Committee. The collection includes a considerable amount of material (used mostly for speeches) on lendlease, Russian education, U.S. wheat to Russia, U.S. and Soviet ICBM output, Russian scientific equipment, and Soviet satellites. Khrushchev and Mikoyan are also mentioned in the papers.
