George Thomas Marye (1849-1933)
U.S. ambassador to Russia, 1914–16. Official photograph album given to him (?) by Nicholas II: Iz moego al'boma. Shest'desiat fotograficheskikh snimkov eia imperatorskago velichestva gosudaryni imperatritsy Aleksandry Feodorovny (Petrograd and Moscow, M. O. Vol'f, n.d.). Facing the title page, in hand of the empress presumably, is the short title and her signature. Photos are from 1912–15, all 60 captioned in Russian. They show scenes of the war, nurses, and the wounded.
John Hensley DeTar (b. 1925)
Papers, 1956–73, 8 boxes. Organizer and director of the John Birch Society in Nevada. Letters, reports, literary manuscripts, miscellaneous documents, and considerable printed matter (many Birch Society publications), relating to anti-communist, right-wing political groups and activities, mostly in Nevada. Includes correspondence with many Nevada political leaders. Until 1983, access is by written permission from the donor only. (NC 113)
John V. Ciceu (1924-1972)
Papers, 1962–65, 2 boxes. Chapter leader of the John Birch Society at Reno, member of the Nevada Anti-Communist Freedom Forum. Materials, concerning anti-communism in the U.S., include fairly complete records of the Birch Society's chapter's and members' activities (correspondence, reports, office files, and account books). Ciceu corresponded with a number of prominent international and national political leaders. (NC 142)
