• George Vasilievich Florovsky (b. 1893)

• Harlow Shapley (1885-1972)

• Merle Fainsod (1907-1972)

In part, typed transcripts, photocopies, and notes from the Smolensk Archives (see also Widener Library) for his book Smolensk Under Soviet Rule (1958).
