Collection, 1769–1848, ca. 1,650 items. Autographs of California pioneers, i.e., persons who came to the area before 1849. Contained in 1 album, arranged under subjects, one of which is "Russians" (others are "merchants, missionaries, officials civil and military" and "traders and trappers"). Includes a brief printed biography of each signer, mostly clippings. Unpublished index (NUCMC 61–2735).
