Correspondence originated in both the Crimea and London and correspondents included H. P. Wright, Lord Raglan, R. G. Gleig, C. H. Bracebridge, A. Tremayne, J. F. Burgoyne, W. E. Gladstone, and (holograph signed envelope) Florence Nightingale. The letters discuss the work of British army chaplains, field hospitals, the Light Brigade of Cavalry, the Battle of Tchernaya, and other subjects.
