• This repository has some of the microfilms of materials in the National Archives (Washington, D.C.) that pertain to Russia/USSR. For more details, see Charles South, List of National Archives Microfilm Publications in the Regional Archives Branches (Washington: National Archives and Records Service, 1975). Original Russian-related materials not found in the National Archives in Washington include the files of the Office of Engineering Design and Construction in RG 142, Records of the Tennessee Valley Authority. These files, which contain reports, account books, blueprints, and correspondence, relate to the sign, procurement, and shipment of hydroelectric power plant equipment to the Soviet Union by the T.V.A. under the lend-lease agreement (1942–45). Soviet engineers and electrical specialists mentioned include M. V. Maylshev, A. L. Artemov, N. M. Andrienko, V. N. Elfimov, A. G. Boiko, and N. P. Samsonov. Preliminary inventory.

• Records of the Tennessee Valley Authority [TVA]

  1917-94 (bulk 1933-86). TVA files include a typed report, 12 pp., on a delegation trip to the USSR in August 1962 led by secretary of the interior Stewart L. Udall which visited Soviet electric power stations in Irkutsk, Bratsk, Kuibyshev, Volgograd, and the Moscow area. Accompanying material includes correspondence of Mr. Fred Chambers, assistant to chief power engineer, TVA, and of Kenneth M. Klein of the Bonneville (Oregon) Power Administration; and 13 pp. of questions and answers concerning facilities visited on the trip, plus a map of the delegation's itinerary.
