Notes

Collections include the Office of War Information Collection, National Press Club Collection, United Nations Records Collection, 1946–63, and others with scattered Russian/Sovietrelated material from the early 1940s to the present. Individual items include recordings of literary figures such as Andrei Voznesensky, Evgenii Evtushenko, M. Gorkii, Valentin Kataev, and A. Solzhenitsyn; of musical composers and musicians (e.g., Gregor Piatigorsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Alexander Siloti); of singers like Feodor Shaliapin; and of political leaders such as Nikita Khrushchev and V. Molotov. Unpublished recordings are too vast to attempt a representative sampling, however. There are finding aids for some of the larger collections.
